January marks the start of the 2008 racing season. The SRC winter series always sees No Brakes riders out working out the winter kinks and getting going for a fast, fun and exciting year.

The first race on January 13th saw one of our youngest riders, Wil White, start the year with a 1st place finish. Wil is a junior rider in the beginner men, 13 -15, DH category. We're proud of Will for representing the team so well and winning by almost 3 seconds!

The second race on January 27th had Wil White out there again with another 1st place in the DH.  And, one of our DH expert women, Laura Drexler, came out fighting to hit the series with a second place. Awesome job! Here's a quick report from Laura:

Good race. No rain. Great tacky conditions and flowy course. My first entire race weekend (Sat practice and Sun race) where I stayed ON the bike the whole time. This has never happened before!  Don't know quite how I feel about it. Haha. Was 10 sec off 1st. Probably could have pushed it more. But even without a crash, I managed to rip a rear derailleur off at the bolt and lose a limit screw.
